Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has officially confirmed the launch date for its much-anticipated first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara. The all-new electric SUV will be launched on September 3, 2025. This launch will be entitled the biggest launch of the year 2025. This isn’t just any launch event, but is also expected to signify the intensive competition among mid-size electric SUVs in the Indian market.
The model was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, generating significant buzz and setting high expectations among EV enthusiasts and industry experts. The upcoming e-Vitara is an entry-level electric vehicle and will be positioned as a premium offering against rivals such as the Tata Cruvv EV, the Hyundai Creta EV, and the Mahindra XUV400.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be retailed through Maruti’s premium Nexa dealerships and will play a pivotal role in the brand’s evolving electrification strategy.
However, the above prices are factored into the price, which ranges between €29,999 and €37,799 in the UK regions. The vehicle has already been moved to sales this month. Although this price can be affected by catering to Indian buyers, the car might be expected to cost between Rs 17 and Rs 22 Lakh (ex-showroom), placing it under the premium midsize SUV segment.
