Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has officially confirmed the launch date for its much-anticipated first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara. The all-new electric SUV will be launched on September 3, 2025. This launch will be entitled the biggest launch of the year 2025. This isn’t just any launch event, but is also expected to signify the intensive competition among mid-size electric SUVs in the Indian market.
The model was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, generating significant buzz and setting high expectations among EV enthusiasts and industry experts. The upcoming e-Vitara is an entry-level electric vehicle and will be positioned as a premium offering against rivals such as the Tata Cruvv EV, the Hyundai Creta EV, and the Mahindra XUV400.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: What You Need to Know
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be retailed through Maruti’s premium Nexa dealerships and will play a pivotal role in the brand’s evolving electrification strategy.
- Expected Price: As the EV will be classified as a premium SUV, the car will be priced at a higher tag. However, the company has not disclosed any news regarding the price. Experts suggest that the estimated price is expected to be around Rs 35.05 lakh to Rs 44.16 lakh.
However, the above prices are factored into the price, which ranges between €29,999 and €37,799 in the UK regions. The vehicle has already been moved to sales this month. Although this price can be affected by catering to Indian buyers, the car might be expected to cost between Rs 17 and Rs 22 Lakh (ex-showroom), placing it under the premium midsize SUV segment.

Battery, Range, and Performance
As per the latest reports, the upcoming e-Vitara will offer two battery packs for Indian customers. The first will be the 49 kWh battery pack, which will come as a standard, and the second will be the 61 kWh battery pack, which will be available as an option for buyers. Configured with a 49 kWh battery, the car will be able to generate 149 HP along with 189 Nm of torque. With 49 kWh, the car will be available in a single variant as a front-wheel drive.
With a 61 kWh battery under the hood, the car produces 171 HP with 189 Nm of torque. The larger battery also allows for covering the estimated range of 500 km on a single charge. With a 61 kWh battery pack, all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive are both available as standard.
Design and Features
The front fascia of the e-Vitara includes LED matrix DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, piano black accents, and fresh C-pillar designs. The interiors feature a dual-tone theme, a new two-spoke steering wheel, leatherette seats, a large panoramic glass roof, and technology-rich amenities. The features will be as follows:
