MG Cyberster Indian Specification

The main features of JSW MG Motor India's eagerly awaited electric sports vehicle, the MG Cyberster, have been formally disclosed. The Cyberster is scheduled to debut in January 2025 as a component of MG's new premium sales channel, "MG Select," which aims to bring high-end automobiles to India. MG may launch a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version of the Cyberster in India, contingent on consumer reaction.

After the Cyberster is released, MG intends to unveil the Mifa 9 MPV, which will make its premiere at the Bharat Mobility Expo as well. This will increase MG's market share in the high-end automobile industry.

MG Cyberster Battery and Motor Specs

The India-spec Cyberster will be equipped with a:

  • Battery Pack: 77kWh with a thickness of 110mm.
  • Motor Configuration: Oil-cooled motors on each axle simulating an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup.
  • Power Output: 510hp and 725Nm of torque.
  • Performance: Capable of sprinting from 0-100kph in just 3.2 seconds.
  • Range: Claimed 580km on a single charge (CLTC cycle).

The Cyberster has a rear five-link independent suspension and a front double wishbone to improve driving dynamics. A balanced 50:50 weight distribution guarantees high-speed stability.

MG Cyberster Design Highlights

Inspired by the classic MG B Roadster of the 1960s, the Cyberster boasts a blend of retro and futuristic elements:

  • Configuration: Soft-top, two-seater.
  • Doors: Scissor doors with dual radar sensors and anti-pinch mechanisms.
  • Wheels: Expected sizes range between 19 and 20 inches.
  • Rear Design: Includes a connected LED strip, arrow-shaped tail lights, and a sporty split diffuser.
  • Bodywork: Features prominent rear haunches and side skirts for a muscular stance.

MG Select: A New Retail Channel

MG Select is a dedicated retail outlet for MG’s New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), which include EVs, PHEVs, and hybrids. Key details include:

  • Four new products, locally assembled.
  • Entry-luxury models with a standalone facility and workshops.
  • 12 experience centers in the first phase, with plans to expand to T
  • ier 2 cities.
  • Distinct from MG’s mainstream channel to target premium customers.

Chief Growth Officer Gaurav Gupta of MG Select emphasized the channel's emphasis on new products for the entry-luxury market. He underlined how crucial it is to strike a balance between customer experience, pricing, and product.
