Mini has finally launched the Cooper S Convertible in India at a starting price of Rs 58.50 lakh (ex-showroom), offering a new convertible experience in this price range. The model brings an electrically operated soft-top that folds in seconds, refreshed exterior detailing and a tech-loaded cabin distinct from the standard Cooper S. With a sportier look, upgraded features and a lifestyle-focused appeal, the new Convertible aims to make everyday drives feel more special. Bookings are now open, and you can book this car at your nearest Mini dealership, with deliveries set to begin soon.

From the front, the Cooper Convertible continues to retain Mini’s instantly recognizable fascia, with round LED headlamps, an upright stance and a familiar silhouette. However, the model brings subtle updates such as reworked grille detailing and sharper bumpers, giving it a modern touch without altering its classic look. The dual-tone 17-inch alloys and bold colour options further highlight its fun, youthful appeal.

Moreover, Mini has kept the classic design that made the brand so recognizable. The Convertible follows the same proportions as the hatchback but replaces the fixed roof with an electrically operated soft-top. The canvas roof can slide back or fold down completely in 18 seconds, and it can be operated even while driving at speeds of up to 30 kmph. Overall, the S Convertible feels familiar but more modern, keeping the Mini personality intact while adding a bit of extra style.
Stepping inside, the S Convertible features a round OLED touchscreen familiar to the classic Mini. The centerpiece handles entertainment, climate controls and basic car information, and it also serves as the driver’s instrument cluster, giving the dashboard a clean, clutter-free look.

It also supports voice commands through “Hey Mini’’ and offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Mini Cooper S Convertible welcomes you inside the cabin with a mix of soft-touch materials and new-age finishes, while buyers can opt for customization packs to add features like a sportier steering wheel, enhanced ambient lighting and upgraded upholstery. There’s plenty of room in the front, while the rear seats are more comfortable for short rides or kids.
Mini has equipped the Convertible with a long list of features expected at this price point. Highlights include:

As far as safety is concerned, the Mini comes with multiple airbags, Level-1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), park assist control, a rearview camera, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), 3-point seat belts on all seats and more, offering enhanced safety for consumers.
Powering the new Convertible is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the engine sends power to the front wheels and helps the car sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.9 seconds. Moreover, the car has a top speed of 240 kmph. Mini says the car stays easy, sharp and fun to drive in any roof position.

Priced at Rs 58.5 lakh, the Mini Cooper Convertible sits in a niche where there are almost no direct rivals. However, the MG Cyberster can be considered the closest comparison, but it sits at a much higher price. For buyers seeking a compact luxury car that stands out, delivers engaging performance and looks distinctive, the Cooper S Convertible is a considerable choice at this price point.
