MG Hector Facelift: New Front and Grille

The most noticeable change at the front is a new and enlarged grille. The 2025 MG Hector facelift features a vertically arranged honeycomb structure finished in chrome, giving the SUV a far more upright and dominating road presence than its predecessor. Along with the new grille, the bumper has been updated and now gets a grey insert at the bottom, giving a sharper look to the car’s front profile without altering the split-headlamp setup that has become the model’s signature.
Moreover, leaked shots also suggest fresh colour options for the upcoming model, such as an elegant dark blue shade joining the palette. Additional tweaks include a new pattern for the alloy wheels and revised tail-lamps, which give the rear section a fresher and more polished appearance.

Interior Upgrades
The cabin layout stays familiar, but MG has added new colours and upholstery to give it a more modern feel. The automaker has kept the dominant portrait-style touchscreen at the center of the dashboard, though an upgrade in responsiveness and graphics quality is expected, possibly with a larger display.

Additionally, for 2026 model-year vehicles, sightings suggest that MG is integrating gesture-based controls for key functions such as volume adjustment, media navigation, and AC settings. This upgrade will enhance safety and convenience while driving. Hardware upgrades, including expanded RAM capacity, will enhance interface performance and smoothness.
No Changes Under the Hood

The engine options stay the same as before. MG will continue offering the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with a manual or CVT and the 2.0-litre diesel paired with a manual gearbox. Both versions still use a front-wheel-drive setup. While some rivals are moving toward hybrid engines, MG is sticking with its current petrol and diesel choices for now.
Launch Timeline, Pricing and Rivals
The updated MG Hector and Hector Plus are scheduled for their public debut on December 15, 2025, with an expected price range between Rs 15 lakh - Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the MG Hector facelift will compete against the Tata Harrier, Safari, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Alcazar, and the upcoming.

Verdict
The facelifted Hector feels like a smart refresh that strengthens its appeal without overcomplicating things. The sharper design and upgraded tech make it more attractive and user-friendly, even if the engines remain unchanged. While it lacks hybrid options seen in rivals, the overall package still delivers strong value. With the right pricing, it should stay a solid pick in its segment.
