The MRF Steel Brace SP-01 tyres are Z rated, making them suitable for speeds up to 299kph. They use a zero-degree steel radial belt construction, which supports stability at high speeds. Unlike many competitors, the Steel Brace SP-01 is a single-compound tyre. MRF claims this design offers up to 15 percent longer life compared to the Bridgestone S23, which is the standard tyre on the Hayabusa. The company also states that these tyres wear in a consistent pattern, avoiding sudden drops in performance as they age.

The tyres are available in multiple sizes. Rear tyre options range from 160/70ZR17 to 190/55 ZR17. MRF has announced plans to introduce more sizes in the future to cover a wider range of superbikes.

Availability and Pricing

MRF has priced a set of Hayabusa tyres at Rs 34,000. The Steel Brace SP-01 will be available at select MRF dealers located in major cities across India. Customers can also purchase these tyres directly from MRF through its online platform. This approach aims to make the tyres accessible to superbike owners nationwide.

MRF tested the Steel Brace SP-01 tyres on a Suzuki Hayabusa at its new proving grounds in Trichy. The company reported positive performance during these tests. More detailed performance reviews will be released in future articles.

With the launch of the Steel Brace SP-01, MRF enters the superbike tyre market with a product certified for use on some of the most powerful motorcycles in India. The company aims to expand its presence in the premium tyre segment with this new offering.
