Nissan Motor India has officially teased its upcoming seven-seater B-segment MPV, called the Gravite, which is scheduled to launch in early 2026. This model marks an important milestone in Nissan’s renewed strategy for the Indian market, where the brand is working towards rebuilding its product portfolio and enhance customer reach. The Gravite will be manufactured locally at the Renault-Nissan Alliance facility in Chennai, underlining Nissan’s long-term commitment to India. It is positioned as a practical and value-focused family MPV, the Gravite is aimed at consumers who prioritize space, flexibility, and affordability over premium appeal.
While Nissan has not yet revealed technical specifications, the Gravite is expected to be based on the CMF-A+ platform, shared with Renault Triber. This approach allows Nissan to benefit from high localization, lower development costs, and proven packaging efficiency. Platform sharing has already worked well for the alliance with models like the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. This means the Gravite will focus on space and flexible seating, which buyers expect in a compact MPV.

Despite its shared architecture, Nissan is giving the Gravite a distinctive identity. The MPV will feature the brand’s signature C-shaped front grille and lighting design, aligning it with Nissan’s global styling language. In the teaser the car features a more upright stance with clean, horizontal proportions that emphasize cabin space and road presence. Unique touches such as hood branding and rear-door Gravite badging are being introduced to strengthen visual differentiation, elements not commonly seen in this segment.
Nissan is positioning the Gravite as a family-friendly MPV built around everyday usability. The cabin has been designed with versatility in mind, focusing on flexible seating arrangements and smart storage solutions. According to the brand, the Gravite is aimed to comfortably handle both daily city uses and longer family journeys. While interior details haven't been revealed by the brand yet, we can expect a highly modular seating layout, catering to changing passenger and luggage needs.
The Gravite is the second model under Nissan India’s refreshed product plan announced in 2024. After its launch in early 2026, Nissan will introduce the Tekton SUV in mid-2026, followed by a larger seven-seater C-SUV in early 2027.Alongside new product launches, Nissan is also focusing on expanding its dealer network across Tier I and Tier II cities to make sales and service more accessible for buyers.

With more information on engines, features, and pricing expected closer to launch, the Nissan Gravite signals a clear intent from the brand to regain relevance in India’s competitive mass-market space.
The Nissan Gravite looks like a sensible and timely move for the brand in India. By focusing on space, flexibility and affordability rather than chasing premium appeal, Nissan is playing to real market needs. If priced competitively and backed by improved reach, the Gravite could help Nissan reconnect with family buyers and rebuild trust in a highly competitive segment.
