Porsche has expanded its electric SUV offerings in India by introducing two new variants of the Macan EV. The Macan EV lineup now includes an entry-level rear-wheel drive model priced at Rs 1.23 crore and a mid-range 4S variant at Rs 1.39 crore. The existing Macan EV Turbo trim has seen a price increase to Rs 1.69 crore. These additions provide more options for luxury electric SUV buyers in the country. The new Macan EV variants offer different performance levels and driving characteristics to suit various preferences.
The entry-level Macan EV features a single, rear-mounted electric motor producing 360hp and 563 Nm of torque. This marks the first time Porsche has offered a rear-wheel drive SUV. It can accelerate from 0-100kph in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 kph. The mid-range Macan 4S EV employs two electric motors, generating a combined 516 hp with power overboost and 820 Nm of peak torque. This allows for a 0-100kph sprint in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 240 kph.
All three Macan EV variants are equipped with a 100kWh battery pack, offering impressive range capabilities:
- Entry-level Macan EV: Up to 641 km
- Macan 4S EV: 606 km
- Macan Turbo EV: 591 km
Porsche has also introduced new options for the Macan EV range. These include a Slate Grey Neo exterior color, optional 20-inch Macan S alloy wheels, and an off-road design package. The off-road package increases the approach angle and raises ground clearance by 10mm, enhancing the vehicle's versatility.
The electric SUV utilizes an 800V charging architecture, enabling DC fast charging at up to 270kW. This allows for a 10-80% charge in just 21 minutes when using a compatible fast charger.
The Macan EV competes with other luxury electric SUVs in the Indian market, such as the Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes EQE SUV, and BMW iX. Bookings for the new variants are now open, with deliveries expected to begin later this year.
