The automobile giant has not only teased the vehicle but has also announced its plans to introduce a new all-electric SUV concurrently. The new SUV aims to cater to the evolving preferences of Indian consumers, and Skoda enthusiasts are in for a treat as they eagerly await its arrival.

Positioned Below Kushaq

In a strategic move, the upcoming sub-four metre SUV from Skoda will be positioned below the already popular Kushaq model. This positioning is expected to appeal to a wider audience, offering a more compact and economical option for SUV enthusiasts. The decision aligns with the growing trend of compact SUVs gaining traction in the Indian automotive market.

Choose Your Favorite from Five Options

While the automaker has remained tight-lipped about the name of the new SUV, Skoda has engaged its audience in an interactive naming process. Enthusiasts and potential buyers are invited to choose their favourite from a list of five options – Kylaq, Kymaq, Kyroq, Kariq, and Kwiq. This engagement strategy adds an exciting element to the anticipation surrounding the new model.

Inheriting Traits from Kushaq and Slavia

The sub-four metre SUV is set to inherit its underpinnings from its predecessors, the Kushaq and Slavia models. This not only ensures a reliable and proven platform but also facilitates cost-effective production. The vehicle will be powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmissions. Skoda aims to capture the hatchback and sedan user market with this compact SUV offering.

Design and Features

Skoda has given a glimpse of the new SUV's design, focusing on the front profile. The teaser reveals a split LED headlamp design with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a tall bonnet with distinct ridges, chunky wheel arches, and functional roof rails.
