Nissan has launched the Gravite MPV in India, starting at Rs 5.65 lakh ex-showroom. The Gravite offers flexible seating, essential features, and a 1-litre petrol engine, making it the most affordable 7-seater in its segment.

Nissan recently introduced the Gravite, its latest MPV, in India. Priced from Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the Gravite is currently the most affordable 7-seater car in the country. The vehicle offers a flexible seating layout, practical features, and competitive pricing, making it a strong contender in its segment.
Key Highlights
- Nissan Gravite launched as India's most affordable 7-seater MPV at Rs 5.65 lakh ex-showroom
- Flexible three-row seating and up to 625 litres of boot space for increased practicality
- Features include 8-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charger, and dedicated AC vents for all rows
- Powered by a 1-litre petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options
- Prices range from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 8.93 lakh ex-showroom undercutting the Renault Triber
Design and Features Overview

The Gravite shares its platform and silhouette with the Renault Triber but features several design updates. Nissan has added a gloss black grille, aggressive bumpers with C-shaped silver accents, and stylish wheel covers for its 15-inch steel wheels. Stickers around the body enhance its youthful appearance and increase its road presence.
Inside, the Gravite stands out with its flexible three-row seating. The second row can slide and recline, while the tumble-folding mechanism allows easier access to the third row. The third row can be folded or removed to create up to 625 litres of boot space, accommodating up to six medium-sized bags. Storage options include multiple cupholders, two gloveboxes, and a cooled storage box in the centre console. Dedicated AC vents are available for all three rows, improving passenger comfort.
Nissan has equipped the Gravite with essential features for its segment. These include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, cruise control, wireless phone charger, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlamps. However, the Gravite lacks some features such as alloy wheels, automatic climate control, and a higher-quality rearview camera.
Performance and Comfort
The Gravite uses a 1-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The manual gearbox has a light clutch, but its operation is notchy with long throws. The AMT option feels jerky during use. Despite these limitations, the Gravite’s steering is easy to operate, and its compact size makes it suitable for city driving.
The suspension system is well balanced, providing a comfortable ride at city speeds, even when fully loaded. On highways, the Gravite maintains stability, though some vertical movement occurs over undulating surfaces. The suspension quickly settles, ensuring comfort for passengers.
With prices ranging from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-showroom), the Gravite undercuts the Renault Triber, offering strong value. Buyers receive a spacious, feature-rich MPV that is easy to drive and practical for families, despite lacking some advanced features and performance excitement.
