New teasers have come out, which indicates that the popular compact SUV, the Magnite, will get a facelift on October 4. While there will be some cosmetic updates, the biggest change will be the addition of left-hand-drive (LHD) models, which will increase Nissan's export portfolio.
Exterior Design Updates
Even though the change in appearance isn't dramatic, spy photos and teasers give an idea of what's to come. A more contemporary look is anticipated for the front bumper and grille, and reprofiled headlights with new LED daytime running light signatures may also be included. Additionally, Nissan has hinted at a new style for its diamond-cut alloy wheels, which elevate the overall appearance of the SUV.
Interior and New Features
The interior of the Magnite facelift remains largely under wraps. However, sources suggest that the changes will be limited to new trim pieces, while the overall dashboard layout will remain the same. There could also be a few additional features to enhance the driving experience, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
Powertrain Leaked
Nissan Magnite facelift will continue to use the same powertrains as the outgoing model. It will feature the two familiar 1.0-litre petrol engines:
- A 72hp, 96 Nm naturally aspirated unit
- A 100hp, 160 Nm turbocharged version
Transmission options will include the 5-speed manual, AMT, and CVT gearboxes, which will all be carried over unchanged.
Expected Rival
Even with the facelift, the Nissan Magnite is expected to retain its position as one of the most affordable compact SUVs in India. Key competitors will range from the Maruti Fronx and Tata Punch on the lower end to the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon on the higher end of the segment. Its French cousin, the Renault Kiger, will also continue to be a major rival.
