Key Highlights

  • Norton Atlas and Atlas GT adventure bikes spotted testing on Indian roads
  • Production will take place at TVS Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu
  • Atlas powered by 585cc parallel-twin engine with 6-speed gearbox and quickshifter
  • Two variants expected with different wheel setups and five color options
  • Launch in India likely in the second half of 2026

Production and Engine Details

TVS will manufacture the Norton Atlas at its Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu. The Atlas will use a 585cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank. This engine will pair with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a quickshifter. TVS has not yet disclosed the power and torque figures on its website.

Features and Equipment

The Norton Atlas will offer several advanced features. It will come with an 8-inch TFT display that supports connectivity. The motorcycle will have multiple riding modes, traction control, cruise control, and heated grips. Additional electronic rider aids will also be included. Braking will be handled by twin discs at the front with ByBre calipers and a single disc at the rear.

Variants and Specifications

Norton plans to offer the Atlas in two variants: Standard and GT. The GT version will be road-focused and will feature 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. The Standard variant will use 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless wire-spoke wheels. For the Indian market, TVS is expected to offer the Standard variant with alloy wheels, while cross-spoke wheels may be available as an accessory. Both variants will be available in five color options.

Market Position and Launch Timeline

TVS aims to price the Atlas competitively in India. Choosing alloy wheels over tubeless wire-spoke wheels could help reduce costs. This strategy is significant after the GST 2.0 regulation, which increased taxes on motorcycles above 350cc. The Norton Atlas will compete directly with the Kawasaki Versys 650. TVS could launch the Norton Atlas range in India in the second half of 2026, but the exact timeline is yet to be confirmed.
