Porsche has introduced the 911 GT3 S/C, the first GT3 model to feature a fully automatic convertible roof. This new variant joins the regular 911 line-up and is not a limited-production model. The GT3 S/C combines the naturally aspirated engine of the GT3 with lightweight construction inspired by the 911 S/T. It is configured strictly as a two-seater.
Key Highlights
- Porsche 911 GT3 S/C debuts with fully automatic convertible roof
- 4.0-litre flat-six engine produces 510hp and 450Nm torque
- 0-100kph in 3.9 seconds with 313kph top speed
- Lightweight materials include carbon fibre and magnesium components
- Strict two-seater layout with advanced digital instrument cluster
Engine and Performance
The 911 GT3 S/C uses a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine. This engine produces 510hp and 450Nm of torque. It revs up to 9,000rpm and features revised cylinder heads compared to the previous-generation GT3. The camshafts are more aggressive and are carried over from the GT3 RS. The car is available only with a short-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox.
Porsche claims the GT3 S/C accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.9 seconds. Its top speed is 313kph. These performance figures match those of the GT3 manual variant.
Lightweight Construction and Features
The GT3 S/C uses lightweight materials derived from the 911 S/T. The bonnet, front wings, and doors are made from carbon fibre. Magnesium is used for the wheels and some roof structure components. The car features a PCCB carbon-ceramic braking system as standard, which reduces weight compared to conventional brakes. A lightweight lithium-ion battery is also included.
Despite the convertible mechanism, the GT3 S/C has a kerb weight of 1,497kg. The chassis setup is similar to the GT3 with Touring Package and includes a double wishbone front axle.
Convertible Roof and Design Elements
The GT3 S/C features a fully automatic fabric roof with magnesium structural elements. The roof maintains a coupe-like profile when closed. It can be opened or closed in about 12 seconds, either while stationary or at speeds up to 50kph. An electrically operated wind deflector is integrated to enhance open-top driving comfort.
The design retains key GT3 elements such as the front lip, rear diffuser, and a retractable rear spoiler with a Gurney flap, similar to the 911 S/T. The front lighting units now integrate all functions within the main headlamps, allowing for larger air intakes in the bumper.
Interior and Equipment

The interior is configured as a strict two-seater, similar to the 911 Speedster. Standard equipment includes four-way adjustable Sports Seats Plus. Optional lightweight carbon-fibre bucket seats are available. The cabin features lightweight elements such as reduced-weight carpets and carbon-fibre pull handles.
The digital instrument cluster includes a Track Screen mode that displays key driving information, such as tyre pressures, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. Shift lights are integrated into the display. The car features Porsche’s side rotary ignition switch. An optional Street Style Package offers unique interior trims, contrasting stitching, and exterior graphics.
