Prawaas 5.0 concluded on 11 July at Gandhinagar's Helipad Exhibition Centre, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI). The event attracted over 20,000 registrations, 227 exhibitors, and delegates from 31 states and 11 countries, reinforcing its role as a major platform for India's passenger transport sector.

Event Scale and Participation

The three-day event, held from 9 to 11 July, featured exhibitions, conferences, awards, and business networking. A total of 20,129 registrations were recorded, with participation from 227 exhibitors and 20 startups. Delegates attended from 31 states and union territories, as well as 11 countries. The event hosted 15 conference sessions with 120 speakers, covering a wide range of topics relevant to the passenger mobility industry.

Government officials, including Shri Pravinbhai Mali, Transport Minister of Gujarat, and Shri Dineshbhai Makwana, Member of Parliament from Ahmedabad, attended the event and interacted with industry representatives. The event brought together stakeholders from government, industry, and the broader mobility ecosystem.

Key Sessions and Agreements

Conference sessions addressed electrification, policy reform, multimodal connectivity, financing, digital transformation, road safety, tourism mobility, insurance, driver skilling, and startup innovation. These sessions aimed to address current challenges and opportunities in the sector.

During the event, two memorandums of understanding were signed with Rotary International District 3080. The first, with BOCI Naari, the women's wing of BOCI, aims to support skilling, licensing, employment, and self-ownership for women as professional drivers. The second memorandum focuses on driver mental well-being and road safety awareness.

Awards and Recognitions

The Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 recognised 72 awardees, including 50 BOCI Excellence Awards and 22 redBus People's Choice Awards. Award categories included operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, safety, and customer service. redBus served as the Awards Partner. Separate Exhibitor Awards were also presented to recognise outstanding contributions from participants.

Organisers and Partners

BOCI President Prasanna Patwardhan stated that the anniversary edition demonstrated how collaboration, innovation, and policymaking are shaping the future of passenger mobility in India. The event brought together operators, policymakers, manufacturers, and technology providers on a single platform.

Prawaas 5.0 was supported by Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles as Principal Partner, AbhiBus as Conference Co-Host, and Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles as BOCI Day Partner. The event was organised by BOCI, hosted by the Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Mahamandal, co-hosted by the Gujarat Luxury Cab Owners Association and the Gujarat Tourist Vehicles Operators Association, and curated by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd.
