Leadership Transition at Mahindra Group
Goyal steps into the CEO position after working across Mahindra's automotive and farm equipment divisions. He served in the Finance & Accounts function and held several leadership roles. These included the CFO of the Farm Equipment Sector, the CFO of the Auto Sector, and most recently, the CFO of the combined automotive and farm equipment businesses.
Goyal described the last six years as transformative for Mahindra. He noted improvements in governance standards and strong financial performance during this period. He expressed gratitude to Mahindra Group leaders Anand Mahindra, Anish Shah, and Rajesh Jejurikar for their support and trust in his abilities.
Professional Background and Qualifications
Before joining Mahindra, Goyal worked at Escorts Limited as CGM – Finance and Accounts. He also held treasury leadership roles at Escorts Finance Ltd. Goyal is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University.
Goyal emphasized the potential of the agri and new energy businesses. He said these sectors align with India's goals for growth, innovation, and sustainability. His appointment reflects Mahindra's focus on expanding its presence in these areas.
The announcement was made public on April 14, 2026. Goyal's new responsibilities include overseeing the agri and new energy verticals, which are expected to play a key role in Mahindra's future strategy.
