Range Rover Sport Autobiography Launched in India with Local Assembly at Rs 1.6 Crore

Land Rover has launched the Range Rover Sport Autobiography in India with local assembly. The starting price is Rs 1.6 crore (ex-showroom). This is the first time the Autobiography trim is locally assembled for the Range Rover Sport in India. Bookings are now open for the new model. The V8-powered version remains available as a fully imported unit.

Engine Options and Performance

The locally assembled Range Rover Sport Autobiography offers two engine choices. Both are 3.0-litre, six-cylinder units—one petrol and one diesel. Each engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The diesel engine produces 351 HP and 700 Nm of torque. The petrol engine delivers 400 HP and 550 Nm of torque. Both engines offer performance similar to the Dynamic HSE trims. The imported version continues with a 4.4-litre V8 engine. This V8 produces 530 HP and 750 Nm of torque.

Design and Features

The Autobiography trim features subtle visual enhancements over the standard model. It comes with 22-inch forged alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and unique badging. Other exterior features include soft-close doors, flush door handles, and a powered tailgate. Buyers can select from several colour options, such as Borasco Grey, Ostuni Pearl White, Santorini Black, and Carpathian Grey.

Inside, the SUV focuses on comfort and luxury. It features an extended leather interior with semi-aniline upholstery. The front seats are 22-way electrically adjustable and offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Rear seats are reclining and ventilated. The cabin includes four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a centre console refrigerator, and an air purification system.

Technology and Safety

The Range Rover Sport Autobiography comes with a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a Meridian Signature sound system, a head-up display, and rear seat entertainment screens.

The SUV includes advanced chassis technologies to improve ride and handling. These include all-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, electronic active differential, and torque vectoring. Off-road capability is enhanced by Terrain Response modes, adaptive off-road cruise control, and hill descent control. Multiple traction and stability systems are also provided.
