Introduction
- The Evoque, originally developed from the Land Rover LRX concept shown in 2008, began global production in July 2011.
- The Evoque first launched in India soon after its global debut, available in both three-door coupe and five-door SUV configurations.
- Early on, the Evoque offered several variant levels, including Pure, SE, HSE, and HSE Dynamic, alongside options such as two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
- The 2016 facelift introduced features such as adaptive full-LED headlamps, a revised front fascia, new alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and additional premium interior options.
- The 2018 model was offered with a choice of Ingenium petrol and diesel engines, both compliant with BS6 emission standards introduced in India and equipped with mild hybrid technology for efficiency.
- The new features included a larger touchscreen (later advanced to the Pivi Pro system), a 360-degree camera, premium Meridian audio, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and advanced driver assistance systems.
- The 2021 Evoque in India comes equipped with features such as a 3D Surround Camera, Cabin Air Ionisation with a PM2.5 filter, wireless device charging, and improved dual-tone interiors. Engine choices included refined Ingenium 2.0-litre petrol and diesel units.
- The 2024 Evoque, introduced in India after its global debut in 2023, brought sleeker lighting, new alloy wheel designs, a bigger 11.4-inch touchscreen, wireless charging as standard, and further improved interior accommodations.
Exterior Design
- At the front, the Evoque features a reworked grille with intricate mesh patterns and a chrome finish, flanked by all-new pixel LED headlights that fuse Land Rover’s signature daytime running lights (DRLs) for a sharper and more angular look.
- The copper finish for the bonnet and tailgate lettering adds a subtly premium accent visible up close and underlines.
- The flush door handles are another hallmark of the Evoque’s exterior. These retract automatically into the door panel when locked or moving, lending it a clutter-free side profile.
- The large 19-inch alloy wheels, featuring new multi-spoke designs specifically for recent model years, fill the muscular wheel arches.
- Coming to the rear, the Evoque features slim, wrap-around LED taillamps and a roof-mounted spoiler, which are significant to the design language and aid aerodynamics.
- The rear bumper is cleanly sculpted, free of excessive decoration, and the Evoque letters in a burnished copper finish on the tailgate, as seen on the bonnet, complete the exclusive exterior flourishes.
- The Evoque’s panoramic sunroof is a signature feature, now a standard on all variants.
Interior and Features
- Step inside the cabin, and the Evoque greets its buyers with premium dual-tone upholstery, while the Autobiography variant carries a refined blend of black and grey leatherette, complemented by a black suede cloth headliner and extended leather trim on the dashboard and door panels.
- The designers have introduced special colourways, such as Deep Garnet/Ebony, to offer the sense of exclusivity and personalisation.
- With a diverse choice of interiors, combined with subtle copper or bronze accents, the Evoque is a statement of luxury and exclusivity.
- The front seats are both heated and ventilated, offering 14-way electric adjustability, memory functions, and massage features for long-distance comfort.
- Rear seat passengers also enjoy heated seating, and electric adjustment is available for both front and rear seats, and a sliding panoramic sunroof adds light and a feeling of airiness to the cabin.
- The dashboard is taken by an 11.4-inch curved central touchscreen running Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment system, providing intuitive access to navigation, multimedia, vehicle settings, and smartphone connectivity via both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- A 12.3-inch digital driver display delivers crisp and reconfigurable information to the driver, which reduces distraction.
- The entire in-cabin audio experience is enhanced by a 14-speaker Meridian sound system.
- The additional conveniences include wireless device charging with a phone signal booster, an electrically adjustable steering column, keyless entry, a cooled glovebox, multiple USB charging ports front and rear, and hands-free electric tailgate functionality.

High and effective maintenance
Maintaining this high-end beauty might burn a hole in your wallet. Regular servicing, genuine parts, and skilled technicians are a necessity to keep the Evoque running in its prime condition. Be prepared for higher maintenance costs compared to mainstream SUVs but it also provides a good performance so go for it.
Great comfort
Step inside, and you'll be cocooned in sheer comfort and plushness. The cabin of the Evoque is lavishly appointed with top-notch materials and exquisite craftsmanship. Its spacious seats offer ample legroom and headspace, ensuring a relaxed journey even on bumpy Indian terrains. I personally like its cushioned seats and comfort.
Average fuel economy
The Evoque does not shine as brightly. Its powerful engine and heavy build contribute to a somewhat average fuel economy. While it can traverse the urban jungle with ease, one might need to frequent the fuel stations on long drives to savor its performance. And as compared to sych range cars it is a better version.
