Raptee showcases see-through e-Bike at Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meeting

Chennai-based EV Raptee Energy presented a transparent prototype of its electric motorcycle concept at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meeting (GIM). At the event, the ready for manufacturing model made its debut; the official launch of this distinctive electric vehicle is scheduled for April 2024.

The manufacturer claims that the electric motorcycle has a powerful drivetrain and that it can reach a maximum speed of 135 kmph. It can also travel 150 km on a single charge and can be quickly charged at CCS2 stations.

Raptee claims that charging the cars at any CCS2 station is quick and effective; it takes 45 minutes to fill up to 80 percent of the tank or 15 minutes to charge to 40 kilometers. The motorcycle, which will have a strong motor, can also accelerate this EV to 60 kmph from a standstill in 3.5 seconds, according to the EV manufacturer.

With a planned investment of Rs 85 crore, the EV startup has already established its first manufacturing facility, spanning 4 acres, in Chennai. The plant, which has a research and development center, is expected to produce up to one lakh units a year for the next 24 months, according to the company.

With both established companies and newcomers launching models, the EV market in India is expanding rapidly at the moment. This growth is largely due to central government programs like PLI and Fame subsidies, which encourage and support the use of environmentally friendly automobiles in the country.
