Renault Bigster spied testing again, shows new design details
Renault's 7-seater Bigster, based on the Duster, has been spotted testing in India. It features new design elements, advanced safety tech, and multiple engine options, with a launch expected by late 2026 or early 2027.

Renault is preparing to launch the Duster in India, while its 7-seater counterpart, the Bigster, has been spotted undergoing tests. Recent spy images show new details at the front of the Bigster, including LED headlamps, daytime running lights, a wide air dam, and vertical air vents on the bumper. The bonnet appears muscular and similar to the Duster, with a silver finish on the lower bumper. The grille features a blanked-off design, which may display the model's name, following the Duster's style.

Design and Features
The Bigster test vehicle also has sensors on the upper front windscreen, likely for Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Unlike the Duster, which had India-specific design changes, the Bigster's test mule closely matches the version seen abroad. The vehicle is still in early testing, so further updates may be introduced later.
The Bigster is expected to use the same engines as the Duster. These include a strong-hybrid petrol engine producing a combined 160hp and 172Nm of torque, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine with 163hp and 280Nm, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 100hp and 160Nm. Both the 1.3-litre and 1.0-litre engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.3-litre also offers a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Interior and Equipment
Inside, the Bigster is expected to have a dashboard similar to the Duster, featuring an infotainment display angled toward the driver. The equipment list may include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, and 6-way powered and ventilated front seats. Safety features could include Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera.
The Bigster shares the CMF-B platform with the Duster but is longer at 4.6 metres, which is 300mm more than the Duster. This extra length allows for a third row of seats. The Bigster is expected to be priced above the Duster and will compete with models such as the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and Tata Safari. Its launch in India is likely to take place in late 2026 or early 2027.
