River Mobility Hits 20,000-Unit Production Milestone in India
River Mobility has achieved the 20,000-unit production landmark for its Indie electric scooter at its Hoskote facility, underlining rapid scale-up, strong urban demand and growing retail presence.

River Mobility is making its way to the Indian automotive landscape. The Indian electric two-wheeler startup has recently crossed a major manufacturing milestone, rolling out its 20,000th Indie electric scooter from its Hoskote plant near Bengaluru, India. This shows the increase in demand for the evergreen sustainable mobility in the nation and underlines the startup’s growing capabilities in India’s booming EV two-wheeler market.
The brand was able to achieve such a milestone in less than two years. This result was very surprising for the brand itself, as they had managed to sell around 20,000 scooters just six months after the company crossed the sales units of 10,000 in FY2025. These significant sales figures showcase a strong demand for electric two-wheelers in India.
Growing Sales Trajectory
The River Mobility best-selling scooter is now positioned as the SUV of electric scooters. The E-scooter River Indie offers a strong focus on utility, design, and durability that has helped the brand to carve its own identity in this competitive market. The electric two-wheeler market is mainly dominated by big players like Ather, Ola Electric, and Bajaj. However, selling the 20,000th scooter under the portfolio against such rivals is one of the most rugged challenges to claim in the Indian market.
Milestone Achieved in Record Time
River Mobility rolled out the 20,000th Indie from its 1,20,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, which is designed for an annual capacity of up to 1,00,000 units. The brand reached this 20,000-unit production mark just six months after crossing 10,000 units, effectively doubling cumulative output in half a year.
The first Indie was produced in August 2023, meaning the company has managed to hit 20,000 units in under 28 months of line operations. This pace is notable for a single-model EV startup and reflects improving supply chain maturity. The company is also planning to expand its retail dealership into several new states, which include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Maharashtra.
