It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels only.

Despite being powered by a diesel engine, this 5 Series can hit a ton in under 5 seconds. It can exceed 200 kmph fairly easily for a car that weighs around 1.7 tonnes. You also get paddle shifters so the driver can change the gear himself by pulling the paddles.
