Škoda Auto has revealed strong sales numbers for the first quarter of 2025. The Czech carmaker has marked a historic milestone by selling 509,400 cars globally. These sales figures represent a robust 13.6% year-on-year increase for the brand and position it at the third spot in Europe’s best-selling passenger car. This growth was driven by siding sales in key markets across Europe and India too.

As per the reports by Skoda Auto, the brand claimed that in its history, it is the first time ever that Skoda has become the third best-selling passenger car brand in Europe. The brand secures a permanent position among the top three brands in Europe by the end of 2025. Skoda’s portfolio also signifies the sales figures of Europe’s fast-evolving automotive landscape.

Skoda has sold out 409,100 vehicles in Europe, including the overall market from the UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland. This registered a 10.5% increase from the previous years. Germany remained Škoda’s largest European market, accounting for 100,700 vehicles. In Germany, the brand gains around 7.18% annual growth in sales compared to the previous generations.

The Czech Republic and Denmark also contributed to this success. The growth in deliveries shows that the brand has outperformed the German and Italian carmakers in the EU market. Skoda also has a strong sales portfolio in other Western European countries. In Austria, Skoda’s sales have been increased by 10.64% this year. Whereas in Denmark it scales up to 10.21% annual growth.

Electrification Accelerating Rapidly

The most important factor in Skoda’s success is the introduction of EVs into the portfolio. In the first half of 2025, electrified vehicles accounted for nearly a quarter of the brand’s European deliveries. Alone in Europe, the company delivered around 72,000 EVs and 21,400 plug-in hybrids together for 22.8% of deliveries.

The most successful models that were sold under the EV genre were the all-new Enyaq and Elroq. More than 120,000 orders have been placed for the electric version of both these cars. The Elroq alone emerges as the best-selling passenger EV car in the markets of the Czech Republic and Denmark. Škoda’s effective strategy, which offers broad choices, has surpassed its various competitors in the European market.

From the words of the marketing manager

Martin Jahn, Skoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing, said that, “Overall, we have achieved record market shares in several countries, including Germany, Austria, Sweden, and France. Our internationalization strategy is also gathering places like Turkey; we achieved our highest number of car deliveries to customers.

Conclusion

Skoda Auto sales figures signify that the brand is making affordable, comfortable, and stylish cars that are loved globally. As Skoda continues to expand its electrified lineup and deepen its presence in strategic markets, the brand’s H1 2025 performance sets a new benchmark in both volume and corporate transformation.
