Skoda Auto has officially teased the facelifted versions of its flagship electric SUV, the Enyaq, in both traditional SUV and coupe formats. First unveiled as a concept in 2020 and making its global debut in 2021, the Enyaq has been a key player in Skoda’s electric mobility lineup. Now, the Czech automaker is looking to revitalize its offering with a refreshed design inspired by the Skoda Vision 7S concept revealed in 2022.
A Modern & Solid Design Language
The facelifted Enyaq adopts Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language, combining contemporary aesthetics with practical features. At the front, it sports an illuminated Tech-Deck Face with LED Matrix beam headlights, a bold new bumper, and the iconic “SKODA” lettering prominently placed at the center.
In terms of body styles, the standard Enyaq SUV features a flat roofline complemented by a redesigned rear end. Key elements include sleek C-shaped wraparound taillamps, a roof-mounted spoiler with an integrated brake lamp, and chrome accents that enhance its premium feel. The SUV is showcased in an exclusive Olibo Green shade.
The coupe variant, on the other hand, offers a sportier and more aerodynamic profile. Sharp lines run across the body, paired with a black, sharply receding roof for a dynamic stance. Both versions feature silver side skirt and rear bumper panels in the sketches, though these are expected to be replaced by black plastic cladding in production models.
Enyaq Facelift: India Launch Timeline
Skoda first showcased the pre-facelift Enyaq in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year, hinting at a launch in 2024. However, with no updates as the year concludes, it’s evident the launch has been delayed. Skoda now plans to debut the facelifted Enyaq globally in 2025. Indian buyers can expect to see at least a concept version at the next Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025.
Battery, Performance, and Specifications
Mechanically, the facelifted Enyaq is unlikely to see significant changes. The India-spec model is expected to feature a 77kWh (net) battery pack, delivering a range of 513 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Power will be supplied to a dual-motor setup generating 261 bhp, providing all-wheel drive capabilities. The SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.
Charging options include support for up to 125kW DC fast charging, ensuring rapid energy replenishment for long journeys.
Expected Pricing and Availability
When launched in India, the Enyaq is likely to arrive as a completely built-up unit (CBU), which will reflect in its pricing. Expect the electric SUV to come with a price tag starting upwards of ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom).
Conclusion
Skoda’s commitment to electric mobility is evident in its continuous efforts to enhance the Enyaq lineup. The upcoming facelift promises a modern design and cutting-edge features, making it a strong contender in the premium electric SUV segment. With the Indian EV market heating up, the Enyaq could carve a niche for itself among discerning buyers seeking a blend of luxury, performance, and sustainability.
