Key Highlights

  • Single-channel ABS improves braking safety
  • Two ABS variants, including TFT version
  • Familiar 124cc engine continues unchanged

Suzuki Access Safety and Variants

The highlight of the new Access 125 is the inclusion of a single-channel Anti-Lock Braking System. This upgrade prevents the front wheel from locking while sudden or hard braking, providing the rider with better control over the vehicle. ABS adds an extra layer of protection during emergency situations, making daily commuting safer.

Suzuki is offering Access with ABS in two different configurations:

  • The Ride Connect ABS edition
  • The Ride Connect TFT ABS edition

Engine and Hardware

Mechanically the scooter remains unchanged; it continues to carry Suzuki's well-known 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine paired with CVT automatic transmission. The engine delivers 8.43 bhp and 10.2 Nm of torque, offering smooth power delivery and easy rideability. This configuration is still ideal for short highway runs, daily office commutes, and city traffic. The scooter's dimensions and chassis have also remained similar. The Access's lightweight body, comfortable riding position, and useful ground clearance are all still present. Additionally, it has alloy wheels, a 5.3-liter fuel tank, and a kerb weight that, depending on the variant, ranges from 105 to 106 kg, making it manageable for riders of all ages.

Market Positioning

With the addition of ABS, the Suzuki Access becomes more competitive in the 125cc scooter segment. It goes up against rivals such as the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, Hero Destini 125, and Yamaha Fascino 125. This update enhances the scooter’s safety appeal while keeping its proven reliability and everyday usability intact.

Verdict

The Suzuki Access is now a safer and more intelligent option for regular riders thanks to the addition of ABS. Although it addresses a major flaw, it doesn't alter the scooter's personality. This update is really helpful for city commuters who deal with traffic, rain, and uneven roads. Even though there is a noticeable price increase, the additional safety more than makes up for it.
