Suzuki April 2024 Sales Sees 12% YoY Growth

Suzuki Motorcycle India sells 99,377 units, up 12% YoY. Domestic sales surge 31%, exports drop 47%. Despite a 4% MoM decrease, domestic sales remain resilient amidst export challenges.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) concluded April 2024 with a total sales figure of 99,377 units, marking a 12% YoY increase compared to April 2023. However, exports experienced a decline of 47% on YoY basis compared to April, 2023. Despite a slight decrease of -4% in total sales compared to the previous month (March 2024), the domestic market continued to show resilience with a 2.2% MoM growth.

Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Mr. Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing & After Sales, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “We have had a very encouraging start this Financial Year with the month of April marking our highest ever domestic sale. As we experience continual growth in our sales volume, we are humbled and overwhelmed by the ever-increasing patronage that Brand Suzuki has been receiving from the Indian Two-Wheeler Customers. We would also like to thank each member of our Dealer Network and all our business associates without whose support and collaboration this accomplishment would not have been possible. We are determined to come up to the expectations of our customers and continue this momentum going forward as well.”

Export Sales: While domestic sales flourished, exports experienced a significant decline of 47% YoY, dropping from 21,472 units in April 2023 to 11,310 units in April 2024. This downturn in exports may indicate various factors such as changes in global market demand, competition, or logistical challenges.

Domestic Sales: Though the company witnessed a slight decline in total sales in April 2024 compared to March 2024, the domestic market remained constant with a slight raise in sales growth of 2.2% MoM. This indicates a stable demand within the domestic market.

Export Sales: Talking about the export sales,, it has experienced a massive decline of 35% MoM, dropping from 17,505 units in March 2024 to 11,310 units in April 2024. This steep decline can be looked at as a temporary setback in the export market.
