Suzuki e Vitara Earns Four-Star ANCAP Rating in Australia and New Zealand

The Suzuki e Vitara, built in India and exported to Australia and New Zealand, has received a four-star rating in the Australasian NCAP (ANCAP) crash tests. This rating reflects stricter protocols compared to the five-star Bharat NCAP rating. ANCAP uses Euro NCAP results as part of a shared assessment protocol, and the tested vehicles displayed Euro NCAP logos.

Crash Test Performance and Ratings
The Suzuki e Vitara achieved 77 percent in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 87 percent in Child Occupant Protection (COP), 79 percent in Vulnerable Road User (VRU) protection, and 71 percent in safety assist assessment. These scores highlight the vehicle's overall safety performance in multiple categories.
In detailed testing, the e Vitara scored 31 out of 40 points in AOP. The breakdown includes 5.59 out of 8 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, 6 out of 6 in the oblique pole test, 2.17 out of 4 in rescue and extrication, 6.35 out of 8 in the full-width frontal test, 3.89 out of 4 in whiplash protection, 6 out of 6 in side impact, and 1 out of 4 in far side impact tests.
During the frontal offset test, driver chest protection was rated as marginal, while passenger chest protection was good. In the full-width frontal test, driver chest protection was weak, and the rear passenger’s head and chest protection was marginal. The side impact and oblique pole tests showed good protection for all occupants.
Child and Road User Protection
The EV Vitara scored 43 out of 49 points in COP. It achieved 16 out of 16 in front dynamic tests, 12 out of 12 in restraint installation, 8 out of 8 in side dynamic tests, and 7 out of 13 in onboard safety feature tests. All body regions were rated as good in every scenario. However, the model does not include a Child Presence Detection (CPD) system.
For VRU protection, the e Vitara scored 50.34 out of 63 points. In safety assist systems, it received 12.78 out of 18 points.
Model Variants and Range
Suzuki Australia has begun registering interest for the e-Vitara. The Australian version offers two battery pack options: a 49kWh unit for the front-wheel-drive (FWD) version and a 61kWh battery for the ALLGRIP-e four-wheel-drive (4WD) model. There are two variants available: Motion, equipped with the 49kWh battery, and Ultra, featuring the larger 61kWh battery. The WLTP-claimed range for these models is between 344 and 395 kilometers.
