Tata Motors recorded total passenger vehicle sales of 66,192 units in March 2026. This marks a 28.24% increase compared to 51,616 units sold in March 2025. The company also achieved 6.20% growth over February 2026, when it sold 62,329 units. The surge in sales was driven mainly by strong demand for Tata’s SUV models, especially the Punch and Nexon. Newer models such as the Sierra also contributed significantly to the overall numbers.

March 2026 Model-Wise Sales Performance

The Tata Punch, including its EV variant, led the sales chart with 20,977 units sold in March 2026. This represents an 18.42% year-on-year increase. Punch also saw an 11.89% rise over the previous month, reflecting steady demand in the entry SUV segment. The Nexon, also including its EV version, followed with 19,810 units. Nexon’s sales grew by 21.04% year-on-year and increased by 1.96% month-on-month. Combined, Punch and Nexon accounted for nearly 41,000 units, making up a major share of Tata’s total sales in March.
The Sierra posted 9,003 units in March 2026, marking a strong entry into Tata’s lineup. Sierra’s sales rose by 26.80% compared to February, indicating growing market traction. The Harrier, including its EV version, recorded one of the highest year-on-year growth rates. Harrier’s sales increased by 123.40% to 2,826 units, up from 1,265 units in March 2025. However, Harrier sales declined by 8.72% compared to February 2026.
Hatchbacks and Sedans Show Mixed Results
Safari sales reached 1,530 units in March 2026, reflecting an 8.13% year-on-year increase. However, Safari sales dropped by 7.27% month-on-month. Among hatchbacks, the Altroz recorded 2,344 units, achieving a 41.38% year-on-year growth and a 13.62% increase over February. The Tiago, including its EV variant, saw a year-on-year decline of 10.41% to 7,119 units. Tiago’s monthly sales remained largely stable.
The Tigor, including its EV version, experienced a 33.13% year-on-year drop to 981 units. Tigor also declined by 32.20% compared to February, indicating weakening demand for sedans. The Curvv, including EV, saw sales fall sharply by 57.68% year-on-year to 1,602 units. Curvv’s sales also declined by 8.72% month-on-month, suggesting demand normalization after its initial launch momentum.
Overall, Tata Motors’ strong performance in March 2026 was led by its SUV portfolio. Electric variants contributed across several models. While hatchbacks and sedans showed mixed trends, SUVs continued to dominate Tata’s sales mix.
