Tata Motors has revealed the exterior design of its upcoming Tiago and Tiago EV models through a video teaser. The company has not yet disclosed interior details or the full feature list. However, the teaser highlights several design updates and confirms a key safety feature for both models.
Key Highlights
- Tata Motors reveals updated Tiago and Tiago EV exterior design in teaser video
- Both models feature new LED lighting, alloy wheels, and revised bumpers
- Tiago EV receives unique body-coloured fascia and aero wheel inserts
- Safety features include six airbags, ESP, and a 360-degree camera
- Launch set for May 28 with prices from Rs 4.50 lakh for Tiago and Rs 8 lakh for Tiago EV
Exterior Design Updates

The updated Tiago hatchback features a completely redesigned front fascia. It now sports a blanked-out gloss black grille, slim rectangular LED headlamps, and a large lower air dam. Vertical air vents on each side of the bumper improve aerodynamics, while LED fog lamps with black surrounds add to the look. The Tiago EV, in contrast, gets a fully body-coloured fascia, including the bumper and grille, making it distinct on the road. Its air dam is smaller and features vertical slats. Notably, the Tiago EV facelift does not include fog lamps, which are present on the petrol-powered version.
From the side, both models retain their basic proportions. The most notable change is the introduction of new dual-tone alloy wheels. The hatchback also receives wheel arch cladding for a tougher appearance. The Tiago EV adds aero inserts to its alloy wheels to enhance airflow. At the rear, both versions feature a new connected LED taillamp cluster and a revised tailgate. The new bumper includes a black applique for the number plate and large vertical reflectors. Additional styling elements include a sharkfin antenna and a black roof spoiler. The rear design of the EV closely matches the petrol version, with the only differences being the badge and the absence of an exhaust pipe. Tata will offer new red and light green colour options for both models.
Features and Safety Enhancements

While Tata has not revealed the interior, the teaser confirms a new free-standing digital instrument cluster and chunkier seats with integrated headrests. The hatchback will also include a 360-degree camera, as seen in the teaser images. Other possible features are a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system.
Safety is expected to improve with the addition of six airbags. Existing safety features will continue, including an electronic stability program (ESP), rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill hold control (HHC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and the 360-degree camera.
Powertrain and Launch Details
The Tiago is expected to retain its current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, with an optional factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG kit. The Tiago EV is likely to receive larger battery packs, improved range, faster DC charging, and a more powerful electric motor. Current specifications for the Tiago include:
- 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol
- 1.2-litre petrol with CNG option
For the Tiago EV, Tata claims a range based on the MIDC test cycle, though updated figures are expected with the new model.
Tata Motors will launch the new Tiago and Tiago EV on May 28. The Tiago is expected to start at Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tiago EV could begin at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago will compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti WagonR, and Maruti Swift. The Tiago EV has no direct rivals but can be considered an alternative to the MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3, and Tata Punch EV.
