The Tata Tiago, including both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) versions, accounts for about 12% of Tata's monthly car sales. Tata introduced significant updates to both variants last year. Recent sightings of test mules suggest that further updates are in development for the Tiago, especially the EV model.

Recent Spy Shots and Exterior Changes

New spy images show several exterior changes to the Tiago EV. The headlamp setup now appears sharper, with top-mounted LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The turn indicators have moved away from the grille, a change from the current model's design. The headlight internals may also be redesigned. Camouflaged wheels suggest a possible new design, potentially switching to alloys. A raised section on the roof hints at the addition of a sunroof. If implemented, this would be a first-in-segment feature for both the Tiago EV and ICE versions.
The rear of the car could see refreshed tail lamps, matching the updated front lighting. The lower grille now features horizontal slats, and both front and rear bumpers are expected to be revised. The positioning of fog lights has changed, and the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) may include 360-degree cameras.
Interior and Technical Updates

In 2025, Tata introduced a major update for the Tiago and Tiago EV. The exterior received improved LED headlights, a redesigned grille, and EV badging on the doors. Inside, the car gained a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo, an updated instrument cluster, and an HD rearview camera with guidelines. The safety package was also enhanced with new features.
Further updates may include a larger or more energy-dense prismatic battery, replacing the current cylindrical cells. This change, seen in the 2026 Punch EV facelift, could increase the Tiago EV’s range. The Tiago EV currently offers two battery pack options: 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. The certified range is 223 km and 293 km, respectively, based on MIDC Part 1 and Part 2. According to Tata’s C75 standard, the real-world range is 168 km and 205 km, respectively.
The Long Range (LR) variant of the Tiago EV uses a 55 kW (75 PS) motor that produces 114 Nm of torque. Charging speeds may also improve, similar to updates seen in the Punch EV facelift. These changes could make the Tiago EV more versatile, suitable for both city and inter-city travel.
