MG Motor India has dropped the first official teaser for the 2026 MG Hector facelift, building massive anticipation with the tagline "It's been a while. Get ready to be surprised." Set for unveiling on December 15, 2025, this update marks the SUV's second major refresh since its 2019 debut, promising sharper styling and premium enhancements to reclaim the spotlight in India's mid-size SUV segment.

Spy shots and leaks reveal a bolder, more assertive presence, blending evolutionary changes with retained powertrains that loyal buyers trust. With an early 2026 launch expected, the facelift eyes fiercer rivalry against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier, while pricing starts around Rs 14.50-20.50 lakh ex-showroom in India. New Exterior Design

The 2026 MG Hector sports a revamped front fascia with a new chrome-accented hexagonal mesh grille, centering the MG emblem for heightened road presence. Some of the most prominent design features include split LED headlights with integrated DRLs paired with tweaked bumpers and arched with 19-inch alloy wheels.

Talking about the rear, the car might offer all-new updated refreshed bumpers and a skid plate. The vehicle also comes with an all-new dark blue shade option for Indian customers. The sheet metal remains unchanged, resulting in a familiar 4.65 m length and 587 L boot, but sharper lines amplify its athletic stance without changing dimensions.

​2026 MG Hector Facelift: Powertrain Specifications

Under the hood, the car carries the same powertrain units as some of its successors. The base variant might come with a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine that produces 143 HP of power and 250 Nm of torque. This robust engine is equipped with a 6-speed manual or CVT transmission system.

Another powertrain configuration will be a 2.0L turbo-diesel powertrain engine that generates 170 HP of power and 350 Nm of torque. This diesel engine will be paired with a manual transmission only. The brand claims the ARAI mileage is about 15 to 16 kmpl, prioritizing proven performance over hybrids for now.
