The all-new Ather 450S launched with an introductory price of Rs 1.46 Lakh

The Indian EV giant Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather 450S electric scooter to expand its portfolio in India. With the launch of the 450S, the brand tries to set new benchmarks for an impressive range and performance in the urban e-commuters segment. The price of the all-new 450S is expected to be Rs 1.46 Lakh.

The new variant claims to offer a comprehensive styling that combines sporty characteristics with everyday practicality. The company hopes that this e-scooter will aim to boost the growing tribe of EV enthusiasts in India. Let’s take a look at what this new 450S has to offer.

​Ather 450S: What’s new with the update?

The most important update of this variant is the all-new battery configuration under the steel frame. The Ather 450S is now powered by a 3.7 kWh battery pack that can produce 5.4 kW of power and 22 Nm of torque. This same power configuration is used in the higher variant Ather 450X, but the 450S has lower-cost cutting features that are for more affordable riding. The e-scooter claims to travel about 161 km on a single charge.

Despite being equipped with a bigger battery, Ather has managed to uphold a few aesthetics and riding dynamics. The 3.7 kWh battery pack propels the 450S from 0 to 40 km in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the electric scooter is estimated to be about 90 kmph.

Design philosophy

The Ather 450S retains the same design philosophy, complemented by sharp and aerodynamic styling. This peculiar design would be seen across the Ather 450 lineup. The front fascia offers sporty LED headlamps, a sporty design, and a premium fit and finish. Simple seat with generous underseat storage of about 22 L. The e-scooter features 4 riding modes: Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport. The scooter can charge from 0 to 80% in just 4.5 hours via the home charger provided by the brand itself.

Ather’s new 450S does not stop at the hardware upgrades. The e-scooter is positioned between the 450S with 2.9 kWh and the top variant, the 450X, with the same power aspects of 3.7 kWh. Yet, it comes with rich specifications:

The e-scooter is available in a single variant, and customers can book their ride now both online and by visiting Ather’s retail outlets. The 450S will be available in 4 colors: Still White, Cosmic Black, Space Grey, and Salt Green. Considering the price of the scooter is estimated to be about Rs 1.4 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
