Volvo Car India has been making plans to expand its business portfolio in India. On September 23, 2025, Volvo India recently announced that they have launched the much-anticipated model, the Volvo EX30. This new model is one of the most affordable electric SUVs to be launched for the Indian market. Available as a single variant, the Volvo EX30 is priced at Rs 39.99 Lakh for those buyers who will pre-book the vehicle before October 19, 2025.
Those buyers who are willing to book the car after October 19, 2025, will pay around Rs 41.00 Lakh for the same variant. This deal is to be valid during the festive season. However, the deliveries will commence from November 2025. The electric SUV will also surpass the benefits of GST 2.0 under the 5% tax slab for electric vehicle mobility in India. Let us check out what features this car might offer to Indian customers and how it will withstand its competitors.
Design & Dimension

The recently launched Volvo EX30 carries the same design language as its siblings. While looking at the car at first glance, the design reflects its distinctive Scandinavian design language that blends with modernity and improved efficiency. At the front, the vehicle features a closed-off grille signifying its electric persona. The front fascia of the car offers slim LD headlights and signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’-like sporty DRLs.
At the rear, the car is equipped with pixelated rear lights and aerodynamic wheels tailored specially for electric vehicles. If you want to charge the vehicle, you must look for a charging port, positioned on the rear left quarter panel. For Indian customers, the brand offers 5 vibrant colors to suit diverse preferences.

Minimalist Interiors

While getting inside the car, you might have noticed a subtle change in the cabin. Some visuals of the interiors have been directly inspired by their larger siblings. The cabin of the EX30 exudes a minimalist and premium Swedish aesthetic. The dashboard looks compact and offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system incorporated with built-in Google. When getting behind the wheel, a new three-spoke steering wheel is now available to provide better grip and comfort while driving.
Convenience is further enriched by digital key functionality with NFC and smartphone integration. The cabin also features a fixed panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and power-adjustable front seats to enhance comfort for all occupants. All seats and upholstery are Nordico-packed, and to make your drive more memorable, a 9-speaker 1040W Harman Kardon sound system is incorporated.
Volvo EX30: Battery & Range
Under the behemoth architecture, the car comes with a two-battery configuration setup. The India-spec EX30 comes with a larger capacity 69 kWh battery pack. This battery configuration has a WLTP range of 480 km on a single charge. The 2025 iteration of the Volvo EX30 is equipped with a single electric motor that produces around 272 HP of power and 343 Nm of peak torque.
This setup enables the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.3 seconds, matching the performance of many sportier offerings in the segment. The Volvo EX30 maintains smooth and composed ride dynamics, making it equally adept at city commutes and highway cruising, with a top speed of 180 kmph. The brand also offers a 3-year warranty along with a 3-year Volvo Service package with roadside assistance for the Indian customers.
Comprehensive Safety Suite

Volvo, as a brand, gives safety the highest priority. Based on this, the EX30 boasts safety features. The electric SUV earned a 5-star Euro NCAP and comes with advanced safety features. For the Indian market, the car is equipped with 12 ultrasonic sensors and offers an ADAS Level 2 suite. Key safety and driver assistance features include intersection auto-brake, door-opening alerts to prevent collisions with cyclists, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aid, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system.
Pricing & Market Positioning
The Volvo EX30 is strategically priced to challenge established rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Mercedes-Benz EQA, BMW iX1, BYD Sealion 7, and Mini Countryman Electric in the Indian luxury electric SUV segment. As per the report, buyers who are willing to book the car may book before October 19, 2025, as after that the car will be priced at Rs 41.00 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
Conclusion
The newly launched Volvo EX30 is poised to redefine the entry-level luxury electric SUV segment in India. With a strong focus on sustainability, performance, and innovative safety, it caters to discerning customers who appreciate the blend of Swedish craftsmanship and modern electric mobility. Locally assembled at Volvo’s Hosakote plant, the EX30 sets new standards in the premium electric SUV segment through its design, powertrain, features, and class-leading safety.
