Mahindra & Mahindra is making plans to expand its business operations and elevate the most iconic Bolero after 25 years of its success on Indian roads. All these years, the Mahindra Bolero has remained the same and retained its iconic charm with subtle upgrades. But, for the 2025 season, the brand is making plans to bring a majorly updated Bolero for Indian customers. Based on this, the upcoming Bolero has been spied while testing on the road.
This upcoming model might be the updated version of the current Mahindra Bolero to celebrate its 25-year-long journey through the Indian automotive landscape. Camouflaged test mules hint at a transformative new chapter that preserves the Bolero’s legendary silhouette while integrating modern flair and technology for the Silver Jubilee celebration.
Familiar Yet Refined Design

A recent image of the test mule has surfaced on the internet. What I interfered with was an ideal exterior design of the car that may follow a rugged and aggressive stance. Despite heavy camouflage, the silhouette of the vehicle was easily recognizable. At the front, the SUV comes with an upright stance, exposed hinges, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Considering its dimensions, the car comes under the sub-4m category, allowing the SUV to surpass the benefits of the GST 2.0 tax regime.
The recent test mule was seen to be arched on all-new 15-inch wheels, and robust metal bumpers further accentuate its utility-first persona. Moreover, we can expect refined fresh body colors, decals, refreshed bumpers, and flush-fitting door handles, alongside sharper edges and a more muscular overall presence.
Premium Featured Interiors

The most prominent changes would be inside the cabin of the car. The Bolero is set to offer an all-new interior overall that blends comfort and utility altogether. As the car was heavily camouflaged, we could not disclose anything related to the dashboard. However, the brand could give an all-new infotainment system. Integrated with auto climate control and rear AC vents.
For safety, the upcoming Bolero will be offered with 6 airbags as standard, a strong, structured chassis, and possible features like the ESP and a level 2 ADAS suite. All these features might be marking the Bolero’s entry into a new era of occupant protection and convenience.
Mahindra Bolero 2025: Powertrain Explained
Under the hood, the all-new Mahindra Bolero will carry forward with the same powertrain unit as its predecessor. The vehicle will be powered by a 1.5L mHawk diesel engine that produces 75 HP and 210 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. We can also expect higher trim levels that could generate more than 100 HP of power.
Expected Launch Time
The upcoming Mahindra Bolero seems to be launching very soon in India, aligning with its silver jubilee and ahead of the festive season. With its enduring rural and semi-urban popularity, the SUV will continue to position itself as an affordable and rugged SUV across the Mahindra portfolio. However, the official pricing has not been disclosed by the brand.
Conclusion
Unwavering in its commitment to rugged reliability, Mahindra appears set to expand the Bolero’s appeal with both aesthetic and functional improvements. The upcoming 2025 model might appear to strike a mutual balance between the modern features and an old-school body driving style. The Bolero anticipation mounts among enthusiasts and industry watchers for the most ambitious Bolero update yet.
