Detailed Model Performance

1. Tata Nexon (including EV)
Tata Nexon, including its electric variant, was the best-selling car in February 2026. It recorded 19,430 units, up 26.59% from 15,349 units last year. Despite this YoY growth, Nexon's MoM sales dropped 16.84% from January 2026.
2. Maruti Dzire
Maruti Dzire ranked second with 19,326 units sold. This represented a 31.52% YoY increase. Compared to January, Dzire's sales dipped slightly by 1.54%.
3. Tata Punch (including EV)
The recently updated Tata Punch, including its EV version, secured third place with 18,748 units. This was a 28.77% YoY rise, though MoM sales were down 2.64%.
4. Hyundai Creta (including EV)
Hyundai Creta, including its EV variant, stood fourth with 17,938 units. Sales grew 9.93% YoY and remained stable MoM, up 0.09%.
5. Maruti Brezza
Maruti Brezza was fifth with 17,863 units, showing 16.05% YoY growth and a 2.16% MoM increase. Maruti plans to launch a facelifted Brezza soon, with new design details already leaked.
6. Maruti Ertiga
Maruti Ertiga followed with 17,807 units, up 19.77% YoY but down 0.48% MoM.
7. Maruti Wagon R
Maruti Wagon R dropped to seventh with 14,885 units. This was a 25.12% YoY decline and a 1.54% MoM decrease.
8. Maruti Swift
Maruti Swift sold 14,833 units, down 8.83% YoY and 16.70% MoM.
9. Mahindra Scorpio / Scorpio N
Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio N ranked ninth with 14,665 units, up 7.69% YoY but down 5.64% MoM.
10. Maruti Baleno
Maruti Baleno completed the top 10 with 14,632 units, reflecting a 5.48% YoY decline and a 12.81% MoM drop.
OEM Performance and Market Trends
Maruti Suzuki led in absolute sales, delivering 99,346 units across six models. Its YoY growth was 2.86%, as gains in Dzire, Brezza, and Ertiga offset declines in Wagon R, Swift, and Baleno. Tata Motors achieved 27.65% YoY growth, driven by Nexon and Punch, adding 8,270 units over last year. Hyundai and Mahindra posted single-digit YoY growth of 9.93% and 7.69%, respectively. SUVs such as Nexon, Punch, Creta, Brezza, and Scorpio dominated the list. Tata Motors placed two models in the top three, holding the top two SUV spots. Maruti Suzuki maintained its volume dominance with six models in the top 10. Overall, top 10 car sales grew 8.76% YoY but declined 5.9% MoM.
