Toyota Sales in March 2026: Hyryder Leads, Hycross and Rumion Show Strong Growth

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported total sales of 35,145 units in March 2026. This marks a 23.87% year-on-year increase compared to 28,373 units sold in March 2025. The company also achieved a 14.35% month-on-month growth, reflecting improved demand across its vehicle lineup.

Model-wise Sales Performance

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder was Toyota’s best-selling model in March 2026. It recorded 10,206 units, showing a significant 93.08% year-on-year growth. The strong demand for hybrid vehicles continues to drive Hyryder’s performance, making it a leading volume contributor.
The Innova Hycross secured the second spot with 7,814 units sold. This model grew 9.18% year-on-year and posted a 29.35% month-on-month increase. The figures indicate sustained demand for Toyota’s premium MPV.
The Rumion recorded 3,892 units, up 117.07% year-on-year. This growth highlights its increasing acceptance in the affordable MPV segment. The Fortuner maintained steady sales with 3,795 units, growing 11.88% year-on-year and 23.37% month-on-month. This performance reinforces its position in the premium SUV category.
The Glanza reported 3,470 units, reflecting a slight year-on-year decline of 0.89%. However, it improved 8.03% month-on-month. The Taisor saw a decrease of 18.83% year-on-year with 2,815 units, indicating a slowdown after its initial launch momentum.
The Innova Crysta recorded 2,319 units, down 14.08% year-on-year, as buyers shift towards the newer Hycross. Premium models like Hilux, Vellfire, and LC300 also saw declines, reflecting their niche market status. The Camry posted a 7.88% year-on-year growth with 219 units, while the LC300 showed strong month-on-month growth despite lower volumes.
Market Trends and Outlook
On a month-on-month basis, Toyota showed strong recovery across most models. The Hycross, Rumion, and Fortuner led these gains. Vellfire and LC300 also posted notable percentage increases due to low base volumes.
Overall, Toyota added 4,411 units over February 2026. This highlights improved market momentum as the new financial year begins. The March 2026 performance reflects balanced growth, led by hybrid SUVs and MPVs. The Hyryder and Hycross remain key volume drivers, while the Rumion is emerging as a strong contributor.
