The Triumph Bonneville 400 is expected to launch in India around the festive season, just before Diwali. The motorcycle was recently spotted testing in Europe, revealing key design and technical details. Triumph had initially planned to launch the Bonneville 400 earlier, but new GST rules effective from September 2025 delayed its arrival. Bajaj-Triumph had to rework the engine to bring its displacement under 350cc for the Indian market.

  • Design features classic Bonneville styling and retro hardware
  • Export version will have a 398cc engine
  • Bonneville 400 joins lineup with three other Bonneville bikes

Engine and Specifications

The Indian version of the Triumph Bonneville 400 will use a 349cc, liquid-cooled engine. This is different from the export-spec model, which features a 398cc motor. The 349cc engine is expected to have a unique state of tune to match the Bonneville’s modern-retro character. This engine is similar to the rest of Triumph's 400 lineup but tailored for the Indian market.

Design and Features

The Bonneville 400 maintains the authentic Bonneville styling. It features a large teardrop-shaped fuel tank, boxy side panels, and long, chunky mudguards. The motorcycle also comes with a peashooter-style exhaust canister. The test prototype displayed a new single-pod instrument cluster and a small circular tail lamp.

The Bonneville 400 is likely to have a different subframe to support a flat bench-style seat with white piping. Traditional hardware includes telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. The spoke wheels further enhance its retro appeal.

Market Position and Pricing

The Triumph Bonneville 400 will join Triumph’s modern-classic lineup in India. Three other Triumph Bonneville bikes are currently available, priced at ₹10,85,400. The Bonneville 400 aims to offer a more accessible entry point into the Bonneville range for Indian buyers.
