Ultraviolette Automotive just launched their first ever dual-purpose electric motorcycle named the shockwave, and it is priced at an introductory cost of ₹1.50 lakhs (ex-showroom) for their first 1000 customers as the shockwave is designed to fulfill the riding requirements of both urban and off-trail riders alike.
After the initial batch is sold, the shockwave’s price will increase up to ₹1.75 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Ultraviolette shockwave stands out through its design, basically inspired from rallies. The Shockwave features a high-beam front end, vertically stacked dual projector LED headlights, and a high-set handlebar that optimises the riding ergonomics for off-road excursions.
The seat integrates seamlessly with the narrow tail section, which enhances the rider's comfort & maintains its aesthetic.
The Shockwave is available in two colour options:
- Electric Yellow with Black
- White with Red
The Shockwave is built on a lighter 120 kg platform and promises the best riding experience, adding a robust power-to-weight ratio.
The shockwave is powered by a 10.8 kW electric motor, which delivers 14.5 bhp and a torque of 505 Nm. The shockwave can accelerate from 0-60 lm/h in just 2.9 seconds, and the top speed is 120 km/h.
The Shockwave also delivers an IDC-certified range of 165 km on a single charge.
The Shockwave is equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres, which offer superior grip on both tarmac and off-road trails. The suspension system comprises a telescopic fork at the front and a mono shock at the rear. The Shockwave also features disc brakes on both ends for superior braking performance.
