Skoda has been working on a new compact SUV for so long. The upcoming hatchback will be introduced as the mass-market SUV in India and compete with Kia Sonet and Maruti Brezza. The company hasn’t finalized the name for the upcoming hatchback yet, but it has been spotted multiple times, revealing its interior and exterior design language to a limited extent.

Skoda Compact SUV: Design
The recently surfaced spy shots of the upcoming compact SUV will get a tail lamp design that looks similar to the Kushaq rear design. On the front side, there is an LED Daytime Running Lamp strip positioned above the primary headlamp unit. Apart from that, it comes with Skoda’s signature grille which enhances the front fascia. The test mule was also equipped with roof rails and alloy wheels.
Skoda Compact SUV: Engine Details
As far as the power is concerned, the upcoming compact SUV will be powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit which is capable of churning out the maximum power of 113 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. This powerhouse comes mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Skoda Compact SUV: Rivals
The forthcoming Skoda compact SUV will go against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet. For those who are unaware, the upcoming compact SUV will be the fifth offering of Skoda in India. The compact SUV will be based on the same MQB-A0-IN platform utilized for Slavia and Kushaq.
