VinFast India has recently announced the official date to launch its most-awaited electric vehicles, VF6 and VF7, on September 6, 2025. The Vietnamese brand made its first Indian appearance at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This was the first time that VF6 and VF7 were introduced to India. Initially the brand kept the launch details a secret, and now they have lifted up the curtain, making a pivotal moment for India’s evolving landscape.
However, the pre-bookings for the electric vehicles started way back on July 15, while the exact dates for the deliveries are yet to be announced by the brand. This milestone highlights VinFast’s strategic investments in infrastructure, dealer networks, and consumer experience. Here’s everything you need to know about Vinast’s plans ahead of the official debut.
VinFast VF6: Design, Specs & Features

The VinFast VF6 will be the entry-level car for the Indian market. VF6 will be the predecessor of the top variant, VF7. Considering its design, the front fascia offers a sleek design with sharper lines running through the body contours. Moreover, the car features signature eyebrow-like LED headlamps integrated with DRLs. At the rear, the car follows a curvy aesthetic to resonate with aerodynamic advancement.
VF6 comes with a 75.3 kWh battery pack configuration that delivers 174 HP and 250 Nm of peak torque, paired with a single motor. Whereas the dual motor produces 201 HP and 305 Nm of torque. This setup can make car travel around 381-399 km on a single charge. Additional features include connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and ABS with ESP.
VinFast VF7: Engine & Specs

The VinFast VF7 is the top variant of the VinFast India lineup. At first sight, the car has a rugged, dynamic exterior design with split LED signature DRLs. Inside the cabin, the vehicle boasts a driver-focused 12.9-inch touchscreen, a HUD, and premium upholstery. For the powertrain, the car is an EV generation, powered by a 73.5 kWh battery pack that would generate 201 HP and 310 Nm, paired with an FWD drivetrain.
Another variant of the VF7, paired with an AWD drivetrain, is powered by a 75.3 kWh battery configuration that revs out 348 HP and 500 m of torque with a claimed mileage of 430-450 km on a single charge. The car offers features such as a heads-up display, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an ADAS system.
Dealer Network and Charging Infrastructure
The production of the VF6 and VF7 will be at VinFast’s state-of-the-art facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, and is already underway, ensuring timely deliveries and a strong supply chain. The brand is also expanding its operations throughout the nation. Its presence resonates with 32 dealership networks across 27 major cities.
