VinFast VF MPV 7 Compared With Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax 7, Mahindra XEV 9S
VinFast has launched the VF MPV 7 electric MPV in India at Rs 24.49 lakh, offering a 517 km range and 10-year battery warranty. The model competes with Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax 7, and Mahindra XEV 9S.

VinFast has launched its third product in India, the VF MPV 7, with a starting price of Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The company offers a 10-year battery warranty, 7-year free roadside assistance, and free charging until March 2029. Pre-bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The VF MPV 7 enters a competitive segment, facing rivals such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax 7, and Mahindra XEV 9S.

Dimensions and Exterior Comparison

The VinFast VF MPV 7 measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,734 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,840 mm, and it rides on large 19-inch wheels. These dimensions are generally larger than those of the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7. The Clavis EV is 4,550 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,730 mm tall, and has a 2,780 mm wheelbase, with 17-inch wheels. The BYD eMax 7 measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, 1,690 mm in height, and has a 2,800 mm wheelbase, also using 17-inch wheels.
Compared to the Mahindra XEV 9S, the VF MPV 7 is 3 mm shorter but 28 mm narrower. The XEV 9S is 10 mm taller and has a shorter wheelbase. All XEV 9S variants come with 18-inch wheels. Among these models, the VF MPV 7 has the largest wheels.
Powertrain, Battery, and Range

The VinFast VF MPV 7 features a 60.13 kWh battery and a single electric motor producing 204 PS and 280 Nm of torque. It has a front-wheel-drive layout and an ARAI-certified range of 517 km.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV offers two battery options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, providing ranges of 404 km and 490 km. Power outputs are 135 PS and 171 PS, with torque at 255 Nm for both. The Clavis EV also uses a front-wheel-drive configuration.
BYD eMax 7 is available with 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh batteries, offering 420 km and 530 km of range. Power outputs are 163 PS and 204 PS, with 310 Nm of torque for both variants.
Mahindra XEV 9S has battery options of 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh, delivering ranges of 521 km, 600 km, and 679 km. Power outputs are 231 PS, 245 PS, and 286 PS, with 380 Nm of torque. All XEV 9S variants use rear-wheel drive.
Pricing and Features
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.99 lakh. The VinFast VF MPV 7 starts at Rs 24.49 lakh. BYD eMax 7 is priced from Rs 26.90 lakh to Rs 29.90 lakh. Mahindra XEV 9S ranges from Rs 19.95 lakh to Rs 29.45 lakh (without charger).
The VF MPV 7 lacks several features common in this segment. It does not have a dedicated driver’s instrument cluster, sunroof, powered or ventilated seats, or a powered tailgate. Advanced tech features like ADAS, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and wireless smartphone connectivity are missing. Safety equipment is limited to four airbags and does not include seatbelt pretensioners for the second and third rows.
