WEML launches NEMBHARAT zero-commission ride-hailing platform in Delhi NCR
WEML’s NEMBHARAT enters Delhi NCR with a zero-commission model, promising better driver income and competitive pricing for riders.

World Economic Mobility Limited (WEML) will launch its ride-hailing platform, NEMBHARAT, in Delhi NCR on International Labour Day. NEMBHARAT is described as a zero-subscription, zero-commission platform where drivers keep 100 percent of the fare from every trip. This approach aims to address ongoing concerns about driver earnings and cost pressures in India’s ride-hailing industry.
Key Highlights
- NEMBHARAT launches in Delhi NCR with zero commission and zero subscription for drivers
- Drivers retain 100 percent of fare under WEML’s new ride-hailing platform
- Platform includes mandatory KYC, SOS function, and incident response for safety
- NEMBHARAT will introduce a premium chauffeur-driven category for higher service standards
- Expansion plans target other urban markets after Delhi NCR rollout
Platform Model and Driver Welfare
NEMBHARAT’s model differs from the common commission-based aggregator systems. It offers a permanent zero-commission structure, not a limited-period incentive. WEML highlights that this model is a structural alternative designed to improve driver welfare. The launch date on International Labour Day reflects the company’s focus on fair compensation and working conditions for drivers.
India’s gig workforce is projected to surpass 23 million by 2029. This growth increases the importance of alternative ride-hailing models that prioritize driver income. Deepak K. Shah, Director and CEO of WEML, stated that protecting driver earnings leads to better service quality, which benefits passengers directly.
Technology and Safety Features
NEMBHARAT operates through a mobile application that connects drivers and passengers. The company describes its approach as “driver-first, passenger-aligned.” WEML believes that improving driver economics is linked to higher ride quality, safety, and reliability.
The platform will include several safety features. These include mandatory KYC verification for all users, an SOS function, and a defined incident response system. NEMBHARAT will also introduce a premium chauffeur-driven category to target higher service standards in urban mobility.
Industry Context and Expansion Plans
Abhijeet Sinha, Program Director for Ease of Doing Business and National Highways for Electric Vehicles, noted that India’s future growth depends on secure and sustainable mobility systems. He emphasized the importance of connected and value-driven frameworks for transport.
WEML positions NEMBHARAT as part of a broader effort to shift the ride-hailing sector from price competition to service quality and trust. Kanchi Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, said the goal is to show that a fair system for drivers also improves passenger experience.
The Delhi NCR launch is the first phase of NEMBHARAT’s expansion into other urban markets in India. NEMBHARAT, operated by WEML and governed by the NARAYANIHITI Trust, aims to move the sector from a commission-led model to a transparent, equitable value distribution system.

CarBike 360 Says
With NEMBHARAT’s entry into Delhi NCR, WEML is challenging traditional ride-hailing models by prioritizing driver earnings and cost transparency. The zero-commission approach could reshape urban mobility if it scales effectively. As competition intensifies, commuters and drivers alike stand to benefit, making this launch a significant step toward a more balanced and sustainable ride-hailing ecosystem in India.
