Major Launches and Facelifts
Citroen launched the 2026 Citroen eC3 X at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This model is a premium version of the electric hatchback, featuring updated design elements and an improved equipment list. The eC3 X keeps similar powertrain options as before. Citroen also revised the variant lineup, making the mid-spec trim more accessible to buyers.
Mercedes-Benz introduced the facelifted S-Class in India, with prices starting at Rs 2.20 crore (ex-showroom). The luxury sedan receives subtle design changes, a new Superscreen setup, AI-powered technology, and an enhanced interior. It now includes 15 airbags and debuts the S450e plug-in hybrid powertrain in India, along with regular petrol and diesel options.
Mini launched the Countryman C in India at Rs 47.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the most affordable Countryman variant, offering a premium feature list and the distinctive styling of newer Mini models. It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine and maintains the brand’s signature interior layout.
Upcoming Models and Technology
The MG Starlight 560 was spotted testing in India. This new premium SUV is expected to sit above the Hector in MG’s lineup and could launch later this year. The 7-seater SUV may offer petrol, electric, and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. Expected features include a large touchscreen, ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium cabin.
Honda Elevate facelift was seen testing for the first time. Updates are expected to include styling tweaks, new features, and interior upgrades. The compact SUV will likely continue with its existing petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Maruti Suzuki launched the Wagon R Flex Fuel at Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom), making it India’s first mass-market flex-fuel car. Available only in the top-spec ZXi Plus manual variant, it features a 1.2-liter flex-fuel petrol engine compatible with up to an E85 ethanol blend. The model retains the same power, features, and design as the regular Wagon R but is currently available only for the commercial market.
Hyundai unveiled the next-generation i20 globally, showcasing a new design, updated interiors, and advanced technology features. The new i20 follows Hyundai’s latest design language and is expected to continue with the current petrol engine options. An India launch is anticipated in 2027.
