Yamaha Motorcycles India has also welcomed the new GST 2.0 reforms launched by the government of India. With this, the brand has also proposed the full GST benefits with a reduction in cut rates for its entire lineup of bikes and scooters in India. The revised prices for all motorcycles and power scooters will be effective from September 22, 2025.
This financial move follows the implementation of the Indian government's new GST reforms, which categorize bikes under 350 cc at up to 18% GST and those over 350 cc at 40% GST, ensuring customers see immediate affordability in both entry-level and premium segment options. While all Yamaha models fall under the 350 cc option, the brand has maximized the benefits for Indian consumers.
GST 2.0 Reforms: The Big Shift for Indian Two-Wheeler
The 56th GST Council Meeting has brought numerous changes in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the 2025-26 iteration in India. The government has proposed to reduce the GST on two-wheelers that offer engine specifications below 350 cc from a 28% to an 18% tax regime. Motorcycles with engine capacities above 350 cc now face a steep 40% GST tax slab. However, Yamaha’s entire portfolio remains confident within the tax bracket, giving a competitive edge to its rivals.
