The TVS Jupiter 125 is the company's first family-oriented 125cc scooter, whilst the TVS NTorq 125 is more athletic and targeted at younger customers. The Jupiter 125 has the most underseat storage in the class, as well as a first-in-the-segment apron-mounted fuel tank cap and a few other utilitarian features.
 
The TVS Jupiter 125 is priced starting at Rs 78,175 for the base model with steel wheels and a front drum brake. The base model with alloy wheels and drum brakes costs Rs 80,625, while the top-of-the-line front disc brake model with alloy wheels costs Rs 85 075. (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The standard model comes in two colour schemes: Titanium Grey and Pristine White, with Dawn Orange, Indiblue, Titanium Grey, and Pristine White for the mid-spec front drum brake/alloy wheels version. Dawn Orange, Indiblue, and Titanium Grey are the three colours available for the top-end disc model.
 
LED DRLs, headlamp, and tail lighting are standard on the TVS Jupiter 125. The instrument cluster is semi-digital and displays real-time and average mileage, distance to empty, triple trip meters, odometer, clock, low voltage warning, helmet reminder, and fuel gauge. In addition, the scooter has a silent starting and a stop-start function to boost efficiency in congested areas.
Two ISI-certified helmets can be stored in a large 33-liter under-seat storage compartment, which also includes an apron-mounted two-liter cubbyhole and an integrated charging port with a retractable hook. The fuel tank cap is unusually located on the apron (a section first), making refueling a breeze.
 
A new 124.8cc single-cylinder two-valve engine powers the TVS Jupiter 125, producing 8.3PS at 6000rpm and 10.5Nm at 4500rpm. The 110cc TVS Jupiter produces 7.47PS and 8.4Nm, while the TVS NTorq 125 produces 9.38PS and 10.5Nm.
The new Jupiter 125 chassis features a telescopic front fork and a three-step preload-adjustable gas-charged rear mono-shock. It has 12-inch wheels on both ends, with 90-section tyres. 130mm drum brakes (or a 220mm disc upfront if you choose the top option) with integrated braking technology are standard. The 125cc scooter is 2 kilograms heavier than the 110cc scooter, weighing 109 kilograms.
The TVS Jupiter 125 competes against the Suzuki Access 125, the country's best-selling 125cc scooter. The Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi, and Hero Destini 125 are some of the Jupiter 125's competitors. However, for a similar price, the TVS NTorq 125, Hero Splendor iSmart 110, or the Hero Maestro Edge 125 are also viable options.
