According to the latest updates, TVS is on the way to launch a new motorcycle in its 160cc sports segment. The exact launch schedule is not yet confirmed but various reports suggest that it will be launched in between early to mid 2025. The price range of this motorcycle will be between Rs 1.5 - 2 lakhs in India.
Introduction
The TVS Retron is designed in a modern retro-styling for a wide range of audiences in the 160cc sports motorcycle market. While the competition is very high, this motorcycle will add retro models to the TVS's sporty commuter motorcycle lineup.
Engine and Power
The motorcycle will be powered by a 159.7cc BS6 engine. Whereas the power and torque have not been in the picture lately, but it is expected that this engine will produce around 15.53 PS at 8,400 rpm and a torque of 13.9 Nm at 7,000 rpm. This engine configuration with minimal bodywork will provide smooth performance with minimal vibrations even at high speeds.
Mileage and Tank Capacity
While exact mileage figures have not been confirmed, the Retron is expected to deliver competitive fuel efficiency in its class. The fuel tank capacity is anticipated to be around 14 liters to provide adequate range for daily commutes and long rides.
Features
The TVS Retron is expected to be equipped with modern features such as:
- Fully digital instrument console with speedometer, trip meter, clock, fuel, and gear indication.
- Disc brakes at both the front and rear wheels.
- Potential integration of a single-channel ABS (details not yet confirmed).
- Upside-down fork suspension at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear.
Rivals
Upon its launch, the TVS Retron will compete with several established models in the market such as Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Yamaha MT 15 V2.
