The all-new 2022 BMW M4 Competition starting price Rs 1.44 crore, has been launched by the German auto giant in India. This is the new gen BMW M4, which made its global debut in 2020 with its India launch delayed & now it has finally reached Indian shores as the M4 Competition, which is the top-spec model.
Here are the full 2022 BMW M4 Competition Specifications:
BMW M4 Competition Design:
BMW cars of late has divided opinions in terms of their looks due the company enlarging the iconic kidney grille. This sometimes draw unwanted traction towards the design and people tend to forget about other hallmarks of a BMW car, i.e. ‘sheer driving pleasure’.
The same story continues with the new M4 Competition, whose main talking point is the huge kidney grille with 7 black horizontal slats and is flanked by sleek LED headlamps which look aggressive as the front bumper too has larger air intakes to signify its sporty nature.
From the side the new sedan has the sloping roof giving it a coupe design, also, the carbon-fibre roof has two straight lines from the front to the back for added aerodynamics. It also gets 19 or 20-inch black alloy wheels with the rear getting a sharp spoiler on the boot and a diffuser in the rear bumper and four tailpipes. The new 2022 BMW M4 is taller, wider and longer than the outgoing model having 45mm longer wheelbase which will certainly help the rear seat passengers in terms of better legroom.
2022 BMW M4 Competition Interior:

The 2022 M4 Competition interior is mostly similar to the BMW 4 Series luxury sedan with a similar dashboard layout. However, there are certain visual updates to differentiate it as a M4 Competition, like M Sport steering wheel, M Sport carbon fibre, bucket seats, M Sport colour stitching on the seatbelts and M Sport graphics on the 12.3-inch, digital instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch, infotainment screen.
The interior of the 2022 BMW M4 Competition sedan is highly customisable with different styling packs to be offered by the company for its customers.
Other features include head-up display, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 3 zone auto climate control, electric front seats, ambient lighting and wireless charging. The safety features include ABS, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), CBC (Cornering Brake Control) and 6 airbags among others.
M4 Competition Engine and Transmission:
The 2022 BMW M4 Competition comes powered by a 3.0L, twin-turbo petrol engine making 510hp and 650nm of peak torque, while its mated to an 8-speed torque convertor auto gearbox sourced from ZF, thus ditching the 7-speed DCT unit of the earlier version.
This new engine helps in a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h. Also, new M4 Competition car gets an all-wheel drive system for the first time for added driving dynamics.
2022 BMW M4 Competition Price and Rivals:
The 2022 BMW M4 Competition price of Rs 1.44 crore is due to it coming to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) and will rival a familiar foe in, the Audi RS5 Sportback price Rs 1.07 crore, but both these cars are different in terms of their design with the M4 Competition a two-door coupe while the RS5 Sportback is a four-door coupe. Another German car, the Mercedes AMG C63, was a rival but it has been discontinued in India by the company but may look to launch it in the future in a revised avatar.
