The new features of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, which was officially unveiled by BMW with a host of design updates and chassis improvements. The updated model positions itself as a direct competitor to the Mercedes A-Class sedan, which is also available in India.
Engine and Powertrain Options
Depending on the market, the redesigned BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with a variety of powertrain options. The BMW 220 base model has a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 167 horsepower and a 48V mild hybrid setup. The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine powering the M235 xDrive model caters to performance aficionados with 296 horsepower and a 4.9-second 0-100 km/h sprint time.
An automated gearbox with seven speeds is mated to both versions. The powertrain options—which should continue to include both petrol and diesel engines—will probably stay the same for markets like India. Early in the next year, BMW plans to introduce the redesigned 2 Series Gran Coupe in India.
Exterior Design
A Fresh Look Inspired by the 1 Series The 2 Series Gran Coupe is now more in line with BMW's latest design language thanks to a number of design changes. The front end now bears a striking resemblance where the front profile is lower and has more acute angles cut. It has a powerful stance thanks to its bigger twin kidney grille and upward-swept headlights.
A redesigned front bumper that adds a sporty flair features a huge air dam divided into three sections and a broad chin.
With a length increase of 20mm (to 4,546mm) and width and height expansions of 15mm each, the new model has somewhat larger dimensions, offering a more roomy interior.
The licence plate has been moved to the back of the vehicle in between the restyled BMW X1-inspired tail lights, and the M Sport versions will have more blacked-out details, giving the updated design a more aggressive edge.
Interior Updates: Curved Infotainment Screen and OS9 Software
The updated 2 Series Gran Coupe's interior, which includes contemporary enhancements that improve the driving experience, is modelled by the BMW 1 Series' design. Important alterations consist of:
BMW's most recent OS9 software powers a new curved infotainment screen that drastically reduces the amount of physical buttons on the dashboard. You will get an enhanced interior space and material quality as a result of the car's total size increase. The updated design of the cabin adds more technology-focused amenities and utility for both drivers and passengers, while also enhancing the feeling of luxury.
