2026 BYD Atto 3 Unveiled With 630 Km Range and Flash Charging
BYD has unveiled the 2026 Atto 3 electric SUV with new design, Flash Charging, and up to 630 km range. The model features larger dimensions, updated interior, and advanced driver assistance, with phased global rollout planned.

BYD has introduced the new-generation Atto 3, also known as Yuan Plus in China, at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. This compact electric SUV features major upgrades in design, battery technology, and charging speed. The most notable advancement is BYD’s new Flash Charging system, which can charge the battery from 10% to 97% in only 9 minutes.
Key Highlights
- 2026 BYD Atto 3 debuts with major design and technology upgrades
- Flash Charging system charges battery from 10 to 97 percent in 9 minutes
- Available with 57.54 kWh and 68.54 kWh Blade Battery options
- Claimed range up to 630 km on the larger battery variant
- Interior features include panoramic roof and 16-speaker audio system
Key Design and Dimension Changes
The 2026 Atto 3 adopts BYD’s latest design language. It features a revised front fascia, sharper LED headlamps, and a more sculpted bumper. The SUV now includes semi-flush door handles, new alloy wheel designs up to 19 inches, and an illuminated BYD logo at the rear. The overall look is more modern and aerodynamic while maintaining a familiar profile.
The new Atto 3 is larger than the previous model. It measures 4,665 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height. Compared to the current India-spec model, it is 210 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 60 mm taller. The wheelbase has increased by 50 mm to 2,770 mm, which should provide more cabin space. Boot capacity is around 750 litres, and there is additional storage in the frunk.
Interior Features and Technology

The interior of the Atto 3 has received several updates. It now comes with a new two-spoke steering wheel and a revised dashboard layout. The feature list includes a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a 16-speaker audio system, a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and USB Type-C ports. There is also a heated and cooled storage box and improved seat comfort, including a reclining function for the front passenger seat.
Performance, Battery, and Charging
The new Atto 3 offers two battery options: 57.54 kWh and 68.54 kWh, both using BYD’s updated Blade Battery technology. The claimed range is up to 540 km for the smaller battery and 630 km (CLTC) for the larger one. Both variants use a rear-mounted electric motor with power outputs up to 326 hp (240 kW) and retain a rear-wheel-drive layout.
BYD’s Flash Charging technology is a significant update. It enables the battery to charge from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes, reducing charging times compared to standard fast-charging systems.
Market Availability and Competition
In China, the Atto 3 will offer a LiDAR-based advanced driver assistance system to enhance safety and automation. The global rollout of the new-generation Atto 3 will occur in phases. In India, the Atto 3 is BYD’s most accessible model. If launched, it will continue to compete with electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and other upcoming models. There is no official confirmation yet regarding its launch timeline in India.
