- The new Brezza may get a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
- Facelift expected to feature design updates and new features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen and Level 2 ADAS.
- Current 1.5-litre petrol and CNG engine options likely to continue.
- Brezza facelift to rival Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and other compact SUVs.
Key Updates for Brezza Facelift
The new Brezza will make its debut on July 24. It is expected to feature both exterior and interior updates. The most significant change could be the addition of Maruti’s 1.0-litre 'Boosterjet' turbo-petrol engine. This engine, already available in the Fronx, produces 100hp and 148Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol engine may be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, as seen on a Brezza test vehicle.
The current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG engine options are likely to remain available. If the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine were introduced, select Brezza variants would qualify for the lower 18 percent GST rate. This rate applies to sub-4-metre petrol cars with engines up to 1,200cc.
At present, the Brezza is the only compact SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine option. The facelift aims to address this gap and enhance the Brezza’s competitiveness.
Design and Feature Enhancements
The Brezza facelift is expected to receive minor exterior changes. These updates may include revised bumpers, new lighting elements, and a fresh four-spoke alloy wheel design. Spy images have shown possible updates inside the cabin, such as new trim materials and a revised colour scheme.
New features could include a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Test vehicles have also been seen with front parking sensors, suggesting more convenience and safety features.
Maruti Suzuki has not yet announced the prices for the updated Brezza. However, the facelifted model is expected to cost slightly more than the current version. The existing Brezza is priced between Rs 8.26 lakh and Rs 12.86 lakh.
Market Position and Rivals
The Brezza facelift will continue to compete with several compact SUVs in India. Its main rivals include the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, and Syros. The addition of a turbo-petrol engine and new features could strengthen its position in this competitive segment.
Maruti Suzuki aims to attract more buyers with these updates and maintain the Brezza’s appeal in the market. The launch on July 24 will reveal the final details, including the full list of features and pricing.
CarBike 360 Says
With bookings now underway, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift is set to strengthen its dominance in the compact SUV space. Expected upgrades in design, features, and technology could make it even more appealing to buyers. As the July 24 launch nears, anticipation continues to build around pricing and variant details, which will ultimately determine its market impact.
