Ather Energy makes 450X electric scooter more accessible at affordable pricing
Ather Energy has launched an entry-level 450X electric scooter with lower pricing and reduced features to cater to budget-conscious customers.

Ather Energy has launched a new, entry-level version of its popular electric scooter, the 450X, aimed at customers who want a more affordable option without major compromises. The new variant costs Rs 98,183 (ex-showroom, Delhi with FAME II and state subsidy), but comes with a slower charger and omits several features, including ride modes, park assist, hill-hold assist, Bluetooth connectivity, 4G LTE sim, GPS navigation, and OTA updates.
It also has a greyscale touchscreen display instead of the multi-colour display found on the higher-spec model. Despite these omissions, the new variant shares the same design, chassis, wheels, suspension, colour options, 6.4kW motor, max torque (26Nm), top speed (90kph), and gradability (20 degrees) as the higher-spec model.
The battery pack is also the same, but the charging time is significantly longer at 15h20min compared to the higher-spec model's 5h40min due to the slower home charger. The base model cannot be charged at Ather's fast charging network.
The base 450X comes with a 3-year/30,000km battery warranty, while the higher-spec model has a 5 years/60,000km battery warranty. The vehicle and charger warranty is the same for both models at 3 years/30,000km.
The new entry-level version puts the base Ather 450X in competition with the TVS iQube S and Ola S1, offering better performance and top speed than the TVS iQube S, and similar performance to the Ola S1 with a marginally lower top speed of 90 kph and a certified range of 146 km. The higher-spec 450X with the Pro Pack costs an additional Rs 30,000, offering all the bells and whistles, including a fast charger.
