The BMW F 450 GS will replace the discontinued BMW G 310 GS in the Indian market. Developed jointly by BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company, the F 450 GS will be manufactured at TVS’ Hosur factory in India. The bike is powered by a 420 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. This motor produces 48 HP and 43 Nm of torque. The engine uses a 135-degree firing order and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. Standard features include a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.

The F 450 GS draws design inspiration from BMW’s flagship GS models, featuring the brand’s signature adventure styling in a more compact form. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both fitted with dual-purpose tyres. Upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock handle suspension duties.

Variants and Equipment

BMW will offer the F 450 GS in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. The GS Trophy variant is more focused on off-road use, equipped with tubeless wire-spoke wheels and knobby-pattern tyres for improved traction on rough terrain.

The F 450 GS is positioned to compete with other mid-capacity adventure motorcycles in India. Its launch will mark BMW Motorrad’s latest entry in the growing adventure bike segment, aiming to attract riders seeking both on-road comfort and off-road capability.
